I too Ladies, think all who served are Veterans BUT and that is a BIG BUT there is something very, very SPECIAL which sets COMBAT VETERANS apart!! I was married to a man who was in the Navy on an Aircraft Carrier and spent his two years going to Puerto Rico, St. Croie (spelling), St. Thomas etc. yet during our Divorce he kept referring to himself as a Vietnam Veteran and I felt obligated to correct him, saying he was a Vietnam Era Veteran!! I personally feel in order to call oneself a Vietnam Veteran one had to have at least been where there was combat and I think I would definitely included nurses and doctors who cared for the wounded as Vietnam Veterans and all should be honored as such!! Without exception I feel each and every one of them bear some scars whether they be physical or emotional and unfortunately most Combat Veterans bear both!!
