One of the hypervigilance symptoms is the inability to concentrate, which I think is the inability to concentrate on everyday stuff like packing or what your wife just said (not because you're not important, but because your voice is a
safe sound)
because he is concentrating on survival information. I think it is one of the more annoying symptoms, but my solution is to change my expectations (an expectation is often a premeditated resentment) and check up on anything important. One year I didn't and we wound up in DC for the Ia Drang Banquet and Bob had brought a shirt and suit jacket, no pants no tie no dress shoes. I t was pretty funny. He got it all at Ross. But he still forgets things.
I am glad things went OKAY.
