I hadn't thought much about the shattered glass issue. My husband routinely breaks things. So it's a comfort to know that I won't be sending Crate and Barrel and/or Bed Bath and Beyond stock through the roof. LOL.
The paint color is a story in itself. In my rush to get to the store and pick out new flooring, I picked up the wrong paint sample and had it mixed. Too tired and frustrated to go back to the store, I decided what the ****, just use it anyway. The primer (I had it tinted) looked TERRIBLE. But when I turned on all the lights it began to look better. I'll get a better sense of how it will look after I paint tomorrow. The cabinets are maple, the counters are quartz with speckled browns and tans. The paint is a warm orange/brown. It probably will work better because the cabinets are so light, the lighter color that I had originally chosen would probably look washed out. Whatever. I'm stuck with it for now. I do like the warmth of the color.
I don't believe in coincidences. So I was probably meant to get that color and not getting the tile will save boatloads of money down the road. Once everything is done, I'm sure it will be fine. It's only paint. It can be changed. I try not to sweat the small stuff.
